It’s Fri-YAY at Mount Joy! 🤩

This morning, Intro to Health Careers students practiced measuring blood pressure and fluid intake and output! 🆎🩸 Students also identified parts of reproductive organs donated by Willow Street’s Veterinary Assistant program. These organs were removed from dogs and cats in recent spay and neuter surgeries. 🐾

Across the building, Intro to Transportation worked on TPMS sensors today - these systems monitor tire pressure. 🛞 They also restored front and rear brakes and cut rotors.

Brownstown’s Introduction to Manufacturing program

Brownstown’s Introduction to Manufacturing program held its very first Family Manufacturing Night event last night! 🔥⚙️ The event was an opportunity for parents and family members to see just what it is that their students learn and practice every day. Several guests, under the direction of current CTC students and supervision of instructor Mr. Collin Ames, even attempted welds of their own!

Thank you to all who stopped by, making the interactive showcase a success. 🌟 If you’re interested in joining a similar class of your own, the CTC does offer several short- and long-term Adult Education manufacturing programs, including Welding. Check them out on our website, today!

Willow Street’s adult Veterinary Technology progra

Willow Street’s adult Veterinary Technology program will be hosting a career fair from 11 AM to 2 PM on April 22, at the Willow Street Campus’ Lions Club Building. 🐾 This event is open to the public! Come on out, and learn more about the career paths available in the veterinary field.

Today, Electrical Construction students worked on

Today, Electrical Construction students worked on conduit systems, including EMT bending and installing PVC! They have also worked on wire molding and IMC conduit systems! ⚡️🔌

Our Power Sports class dove into live work assignments this week! 🪚🧑‍🔧 A few gave a chainsaw a spring tune-up, servicing the fuel system and sharpening the chain. Others completed an engine rebuild on a customer’s 4-wheeler, and tested the brakes in-house, thanks to their new ATV Safety Certifications! They also worked on a Polaris RZR, go-karts, riding mowers, walking mowers, and ATVs! 🏎️

Students in Intro to Visual Communications studied color theory! 🌈🎨 They identified elements like tint, shade, tone, and hue, and even took a colorblindness test. Students also held a dry run for green screen portraits. 📸
