There’s so many cool things happening around the CTC lately - keep up to date, read about two of them below!

Mount Joy’s Electro-Mechanical Engineering classes of 2018 through 2024 gathered for a picnic this past weekend! ⚡️ Approximately 50 students joined throughout the evening. How cool is that?

Our Adult ELDT CDL Driver Training program recently purchased a 2021 Volvo VNL760 automatic sleeper semi-tractor, partially funded through a grant from the Lancaster County Career and Technology Foundation! 🛞 The new truck will continue our program’s legacy of coaching CDL students to the highest standards in modern, well maintained equipment. Brownstown’s Intro to Visual Communications stud

Brownstown’s Intro to Visual Communications students took and edited photos for their abstract projects today. 📸They also worked on their full-page magazine ads and on perfecting their scanning technique!

Students in Intro to Health Careers started their heart unit this afternoon! 🫀 They also finished their dental unit skill work, brushing their own teeth and each other’s, and they started taking blood pressures.

Plus, our Painting and Interior Finishes program kicked off a new project yesterday at Lancaster County Christian School (LCCS)! 💥 Students are refreshing the girls’ locker room and two staircases, with plans to wrap everything up by Thursday. Adult Vet Tech students at Willow Street have the

Adult Vet Tech students at Willow Street have the opportunity to assist with surgery, performed by a vet on campus! 🐶 The last two weeks have seen several spays and neuters. CTC students prep patients by placing IV catheters, intubating, nail clipping, and performing dental cleanings and x-rays! 🐾 Thank you to our rescue partners, Scallywags Animal Rescue and Eliannie Animal Rescue, for your continued partnership!

Meanwhile, Intro to Transportation continued their lessons on starting systems today. 🚙 Students disassembled and inspected starters, and ran battery load tests and starter draw tests!

Congrats to our March Lions Clubs Students of the

Congrats to our March Lions Clubs Students of the Month, Grace Miller (Manheim Lions Club; Manheim Central, Materials Handling and Logistics) and Grace Caldwell (Elizabethtown Lions Club; Elizabethtown, Medical Assistant)! 💥

Please give their write-ups below a read, and be sure to congratulate them in the halls!

Grace Miller - Prior to coming to the MHL program, Grace faced many challenges to find her “place” and be successful, specifically in her attendance. Grace rarely attended school and her grades reflected this... One thing we admire about Grace, however, is that she always owns up to her mistakes and is willing to discuss these mistakes in order to help others make better choices for themselves. Despite all the challenges she faced, Grace accepted feedback and support from the staff, and quite honestly has shown some of the most improved performance and growth we have seen in the eight years of the MHL program. Grace always displays a positive attitude, is eager to help her peers and staff, is an active member of the Aevidum club at LCCTC (and recruited several members from her class), and actively participates in class activities including helping her peers, especially with theory activities. She is equally quick to help staff in any way she can. Grace has made the honor roll in both marking periods so far, and began part-time employment/co-op with Messick’s Farm Equipment in Mount Joy in order fulfillment and packing on February 17th with the goal of transitioning to full-time employment by the end of the school year.

Grace Caldwell - Grace is an all-around excellent student. She is respectful, contentious, and always prepared. Grace has had the highest grade in the program throughout the entire school year (out of a class of 50+ people!) while balancing a job and social activities. She is kind and helpful towards her classmates and instructors, and stays focused on her goals. Grace utilizes her resources, asks for help when needed, and keeps a positive attitude which makes her a leader in the classroom. Grace will make a wonderful healthcare worker and she is excited to attend Saint Joseph’s University in the fall for nursing!
