Our health sciences programs are at a major turnin

Our health sciences programs are at a major turning point in their studies! 🤩

Adult Practical Nursing students are finishing up their on-campus clinical rotations, and will soon be on clinical assignments out in the field. Today, students administered medications, practiced respiratory care, and checked vital signs. 💊👀

High school Patient Care Technician students will start their NOCTI exams this Friday and begin their clinical rotations next week! These rotations will take them through the end of the school year. 🩺💕 In one of their last classroom activities, a dementia simulation, students attempted to accomplish tasks while impeded by various sensory challenges to mimic the effects of dementia.

Yesterday, student reps from all three high school

Yesterday, student reps from all three high school campuses visited our state Capitol to advocate for increased support of career and technical education (CTE). 🏛️🇺🇸 Students shared with state legislators how their CTC programs have benefitted them, guiding them towards in-demand careers and post-secondary opportunities.

Thank you to TechLink and HACC for coordinating our visit! Special thanks to Pennsylvania State Senators Chris Gebhard, @senjamesmalone, and @senatorscottmartinpa, and State Representatives Bryan Cutler, Mindy Fee, and @reptomjones - we appreciate you taking the time to hear about our students’ CTE experiences and to learn more about our school’s goals! ⚙️🌟
