Today at Brownstown, Intro to Transportation stude

Today at Brownstown, Intro to Transportation students serviced spark plugs and changed oil filters. ⚡️ One student also listened to diagnose an engine hissing noise!👂

Meanwhile, Computer Networking students checked inventory, completed CareerSafe objectives, and worked on personal projects. 🖥️ One student is setting up an online retail store complete with point of sale systems and databases!

Mount Joy’s Precision Machining class is doing s

Mount Joy’s Precision Machining class is doing some end of year mill and machine maintenance and upkeep! ⚙️ They are also finishing up their trophy projects alongside a few personal projects - one student is making a part for his record player!

Architectural CAD/Design students from Brownstown recently visited two homes designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, Kentuck Knob and Fallingwater. 📐 Thank you to instructor Dave Ecenrode for organizing the trip, and to instructors Brian Myers (Electrical Construction) and Dave Wise (Plumbing) for your time and help transporting students!

Willow Street’s Patient Care Technician students are out on clinical rotations, this week at Lancaster General Health with instructor Ashley Seibert! 🩺 These students have met high academic standards to earn the ability to visit active hospital environments. Last week, they finished their clinicals at WellSpan Ephrata. Those back at the CTC have been working with Willow Street’s Intro to Health Careers class under a mentorship program with instructor Melody Miller!

This Monday at Mount Joy, the ELDT CDL program is prepping for testing! They conducted a morning pre-trip routine and worked on maneuvering skills such as forward stops, straight lines back, forward offsets, and reverse offsets! 🚛

The CTC recently announced an exclusive partnership opportunity between our adult CDL program and our high school Heavy Equipment Operations (HEO) and Diesel Technology (DT) students. ✨ Mr. David Smith, Director of Higher and Continuing Education, along with Mr. Tom Goehrig, CDL Director, have collaborated to create a “benefit” for students completing HEO and DT. These students will now have the chance to take the CDL Class A course with a ‼️50% tuition reduction‼️to save them (or their employer) $2,600 starting in July. The exclusive offer will be available for two years, so current students may take advantage of the opportunity until June 2027.
