In between demonstrations and tours for local eigh

In between demonstrations and tours for local eighth graders, Digital Design and Print Media students designed and shrink-wrapped their own branded deck of cards and printed programs for Donegal’s musical. They also designed car magazines! 👩‍💻♠️

Plumbing students bent copper to make swage joints and learned to cut, glue, and install insulation around piping. 🧑‍🔧 They’ll next be learning about boilers.

The Lancaster County Career & Technology Foundatio

The Lancaster County Career & Technology Foundation (LCCTF) has announced the appointment of two new members to its Board of Directors! These members will further advance the Foundation’s mission to ensure our school has the materials, equipment, and funding needed to deliver high-quality career training for high school and adult students. The new board members are:

@senatorscottmartinpa — Pennsylvania State Senator, 13th District

Kristi Heller — Senior Vice President, Middle Market Banking Executive, Fulton Bank

“We’re excited to expand the diverse experience and expertise of our Board of Directors,” said Darryl Gordon, LCCTF Board Chairman. “Each brings a strong commitment to workforce development in Lancaster County and will provide valuable strategic insight.”

LCCTF board members serve three-year terms and act as ambassadors for the Foundation’s mission, while providing strategic guidance and fiduciary oversight.

Even a delay couldn’t stop our students from power

Even a delay couldn’t stop our students from powering through their Tuesday tasks! 🌟

Yesterday in Diesel Technology, students learned steering suspension and checked wear on and replaced king pins and leaf springs. Several also tested for their RevHD Wheel Seal Certificate, mounted and dismounted tires, removed and installed shocks, and troubleshooted power steering. 🛞

Auto Technology students troubleshooted sensor systems, performing electrical diagnostics on the computer systems to ensure prime vehicle performance. 🚗⚙️

An update from a very medical Monday at the CTC, s

An update from a very medical Monday at the CTC, starting off with Protective Services! 🚑🚨 Students are well into their EMT unit, with their national skills test scheduled for March 13. To prep, they’ve been practicing through patient assessment scenarios and various skill sets. Students have also practiced applying 12-leads (a preparatory step before paramedics can interpret cardiac rhythms) and positioning Continuous Positive Airway Pressure, or CPAP (to force air into a patient’s lungs, and to push fluid out of the alveoli). 🫀🫁

Next up, another great collab between Vet Assistant and Vet Tech! 🐶 Adult Vet Tech students dropped by our high school Vet Assistant classroom to demonstrate microchipping and vaccination techniques on puppies. 🐾 Our high school students even got in on the action, practicing exam room procedures and proper restraint techniques on the mini Australian Shepherds!

Meanwhile, Level 1 Practical Nursing students jumped into their first skills lab today! 🩺 Students measured blood pressures and heart rates, an essential skill in the field. 🆎💉
