Architectural CAD and Electrical Construction Tech

Architectural CAD and Electrical Construction Technology out at Brownstown are partnering up, sharing their specialized knowledge for a collaborative assignment! 🏛️⚡️ Electrical Construction students are teaching CAD students about electrical code requirements and symbols! When they switch, the CAD students will show the Electrical Construction students how to incorporate the same information into blueprints in AutoCAD.

“What does a day in one of your intro programs look like?”

Well, at Willow Street…

⚙️Intro to Manufacturing made rocket stoves for their Fly on the Run donation, and worked on blueprinting.

👩‍💻 Intro to Visual Communications continued design work on their can wrap projects.

🚙 Intro to Transportation removed and replaced a failed engine and practiced wire repair.

🔨 Intro to Construction installed roof shingles and began rough plumbing and drywalling on their mock house.

🦞 Intro to Culinary Arts prepped for tonight’s OAC dinner, making lobster mac and cheese, bacon-wrapped scallops, tres leches, and more.

🩺 Intro to Health Careers took temperatures using various thermometer types to test for accuracy.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Who needs luck with all this Mount Joy charm?! 🍀⭐️ Students celebrated with a dress-down day, and several teachers joined in too! 🌈

Starting off with Early Childhood Education green, students have been teaching twice a week in Bright Horizons Childcare! Lessons today included a hand-washing activity and an interactive bug story! 🪲🧼 Students that were not teaching today were back in the classroom, prepping materials for future lessons. 🧑‍🏫✏️

Introduction to Culinary Arts cooked up some gold today, as they held their first breakfast service of the second semester! 🍳🧑‍🍳 Students served LCCTC staff members in a mock dining room environment. Today’s offerings included breakfast paninis, French toast, muffins, sausage, and cinnamon swirl pancakes. 🥞🍞

It’s Fri-YAY at Mount Joy! 🤩

This morning, Intro to Health Careers students practiced measuring blood pressure and fluid intake and output! 🆎🩸 Students also identified parts of reproductive organs donated by Willow Street’s Veterinary Assistant program. These organs were removed from dogs and cats in recent spay and neuter surgeries. 🐾

Across the building, Intro to Transportation worked on TPMS sensors today - these systems monitor tire pressure. 🛞 They also restored front and rear brakes and cut rotors.
