Her undergraduate degree is from Wilmington University in New Castle, Delaware. In 2013, Deborah earned a Master’s Degree from Pennsylvania State University.
Deborah’s law enforcement career began in 1997 when she became a police officer for New Castle County, Delaware, an agency of over 300 officers that respond to all 911 calls in the metropolitan county just south of Philadelphia. She also spent five years working as a Probation Officer for Tioga County Domestic Relations. When her and her family moved to Lycoming County, she felt very fortunate to be hired by Lycoming Career & Technology Center as the Criminal Justice Instructor. During this time, Deborah also worked part time for Montoursville Borough Police Department for 2-1/2 years and taught Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) classes part time for Bucks County Community College.
During the summer, Deborah volunteers as a senior counselor for the Lycoming County Camp Cadet program and also works security at the Little League World Series. In the fall of 2014, she became a NRA Certified Instructor to teach the Refuse to be a Victim Seminar. Deborah feels that she found her passion when she began teaching.
