This past week 10 LCCTC Students headed to Atlanta to compete at the SkillsUSA National Leadership & Skills Conference, along with their faculty advisors. Running from June 19-23, The conference brought together thousands of students, instructors, business partners, and administrators to celebrate the accomplishments of those preparing for careers in trade, and allows students to compete at the national level in their area of expertise.
The conference concluded in a grand finale Friday night with the 2023 NLSC Awards Ceremony. There, LCCTC Dental student, Rachel Linkey took home the gold medal in the Post-Secondary Dental Assisting Category, beating out students from all across the United States.
The LCCTC faculty and staff are proud of Rachel for this incredible achievement, and of our other participating students:
Thomas Alexander (Manheim Central)
Elayna Burkholder (Penn Manor)
Allyson Caddick (Garden Spot)
Chase Hoke (Manheim Central)
Landon Lehman (Manheim Township)
Zackary Lippold (Elizabethtown)
Jonathan Martinez (Hempfield)
Kinsey Rhoads (Solanco)
Jaden Thompson (Penn Manor)
No matter the outcome of the competitions, it is a worthy accomplishment to have so many students representing LCCTC at the national level. This feat represents the hard work done by our students and their faculty sponsors: David Ecenrode, Melody Miller, Brian Myers, and Rachel Sprecher.
