The in-house service department technician has a working knowledge of heavy truck mechanics and in turn, has the unique ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair emergency vehicles. The nature of the work requires an emphasis on safe work practices, sustained physical effort, troubleshooting, problem solving, attention to detail, customer service and time management. The service technician will work alongside other customer service employees to achieve optimum efficiency and excellent customer service, in keeping with the values and vision of Glick Fire Equipment.

Essential Duties
Ensure quality control to all vehicles in our care and custody.
Maintain timely customer and management contact in regard to maintenance and repair results.
Ensure a clean and safe working environment in your area.
Ensure all required PA State Inspection paperwork is maintained according to state laws.
Maintain a working knowledge of, and moderate skill proficiency in, the following vehicle components and systems, with the ability to perform preventative and repair maintenance functions:
Chassis component repair and maintenance.
Hydraulic and electrical systems; and air and hydraulic braking systems.
Engine repair and maintenance.
Suspension, drivetrain and steering systems.
Heating and air conditioning.
Ability to respond throughout the day to different tasks as dictated by the changing demands and needs of the business; go with the flow in a fluid environment.
Complete work orders and time cards in a timely fashion and utilizing Glick Fire’s computerized database.
Perform all operations within acceptable quality and time standards.
When needed, ensure customers are greeted promptly and with respect, either in person or on the phone.
Maintain and wear all required safety and health personal protective equipment.
