Summary

The Service Technician is responsible for traveling to customer sites as needed, sometimes with little notice, to service and repair conveyor systems. This position requires someone with exceptional mechanical skills and the ability to maintain, organize, and clean equipment and work areas. A successful candidate must have the ability to use various hand tools, shop machinery (drills, saws, shears, etc.), forklifts, and cranes.

Required Skills/ Abilities

Performs all work in a timely manner as designated by the Service Manager
Accurately completes all paperwork and timesheets, submitting items daily
Safely uses all equipment, such as welding guns, tools, overhead cranes, forklifts, etc.
Effectively communicates with the Service Manager, Service Accountant, and other team members verbally, through text, or email
Works with limited supervision and in a clean and organized manner
Maintains professional conduct at all times, particularly when at customer sites
Ability to travel frequently with overnight travel, that can include weekends
Duties/ Responsibilities

Responsible for the service and occasional installation of a variety of equipment, mostly related to conveyor systems
Following all the procedures to conduct thorough preventative maintenance of required systems
Maintain proper van stock and inventory in order to complete required work assignments
Complete and submit accurate time sheets, service tickets, and job completion forms daily
Perform other duties and assume various responsibilities as determined by the Service Manager
Physical Demands

Must be able to complete the essential functions of this position: stand, walk, climb, crouch, stoop, kneel and bend
Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at a time on a regular basis
Operating tools, performing mechanical or skilled trade tasks
The position is subject to environmental conditions and will work in all weather conditions

Qualifications

High School degree preferred
Current, valid driver's license with a safe driving history
Minimum of 3 years of related experience
Must have own tools
Ability to read and fabricate from blueprints with a basic understanding of mathematics as related to welding assignments
Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Deadline and detail-oriented

$25.00 To 29.00 Hourly
