Saveway USA Corporation is currently seeking a full-time Service Technician in Myerstown, Pennsylvania to aid our customers, offer technical support to them, and install and start up new equipment! This is a very hands-on position, generally involving physical labor. Saveway is the world leader in refractory monitoring applied to various types of molten metal processing, and we’re looking for an individual to aid our customers, offer technical support to them, and install and set up new equipment.

• Pay: $21 – $24/hour, offer depending on experience
Schedule:
• Monday – Friday
• Regular Weekend Shifts for Overnights/Travel
• 50% or more traveling
The right candidate will have:
• Proven work experience as a Field Service Engineer or Technician
• Background in Maintenance or Foundry Science preferred but not a necessity
• Valid driver’s license
• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot basic technical and electrical issues
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to provide step-by-step technical help, both written and verbal
• Must be willing to travel a moderate amount, often without much notice, including both day trips and overnights to our customers throughout the U.S.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time on uneven and hard surfaces
• Computer skills working with Microsoft Office and TeamViewer
• Needs to be capable of navigating multiple flights of stairs while carrying toolboxes, etc.
Our Service Technician will:
• With training, diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, including impending lining failures, moisture encroachment, improper installation practices, material selection and application
• Travel to customer sites on short notice for fault-finding and troubleshooting
• Diagnose and troubleshoot our own electronic safety equipment’s hardware and software problems as well as answer customer questions in the customer’s facilities, our office and/or over the phone
• Install and maintain systems up to company standards, considering all health and safety aspects
• Ask customers targeted questions to quickly understand the root of the problem
• Talk customers through a series of actions, either via phone or email until they’ve solved a technical issue
• Resolve melting furnace issues in foundries and steel mills, troubleshooting their Saveway safety system and using remote desktop connections to provide immediate support.
• Properly escalate unresolved issues to appropriate internal teams (e.g. shift supervisors)
• Provide prompt and accurate feedback to customers
• Compiling of reports, emails, and general feedback to supervisors and customers
