WGAL-TV, the Hearst Television NBC affiliate located in the Harrisburg-Lancaster-Lebanon-York, PA market, has an opening for a Sales Support Specialist. The ideal candidate is an organized, detail-oriented team player with exceptional written and verbal skills, and the ability to prioritize and manage time effectively. A positive attitude and professional demeanor are essential along with the flexibility to work in a rapidly changing environment. Individual will work closely with the sales team on the execution of local client traffic and copy and have a willingness to step in as needed on the needs of the department. Job Responsibilities:
Entering and maintaining advertising orders including electronic transfer and maintenance of all WO Platform orders to Wide Orbit.
Applying local traffic and ensuring accuracy and correct content prior to airing
Reviewing local and national creative ensuring it meets FCC and Hearst Guidelines prior to being trafficked
Adhere to log deadlines with the sellers and ensure communication
Effectively communicate with our team at Ad Ops in Charlotte, NC on copy, traffic, and log management
Check logs on sporting and special events prior to signing off with management
Execute manual log changes in coordination with management and Master Control
Maintain organized files of traffic instructions
Coordinate and execute monthly purge list of materials
Assist in the development of sales proposals, advertising packages and client presentations
Work cooperatively with managers, co-workers, and clients to deliver a high-level of service
Assist in covering other Sales Assistant duties not mentioned above when needed
In-person attendance is required
Experience Requirements:
Must have computer and software experience
Previous broadcast television copy and traffic experience a plus
Qualifications Requirements:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment, manage multiple projects and tight deadlines
Consistently meet deadlines in a challenging and dynamic environment
Capable of learning new systems promptly and thoroughly
Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential
Must be highly focused, organized, and detail oriented
Must take pride in work, respond to instruction well, and enjoy working independently, as well as in group settings and perform at a consistently high-level
