DAY IN THE LIFE OF A UNIT MANAGER:
As a Unit Manager, you will be focused on leading your unit in the delivery of high-quality and efficient health care as well as communicating with patients/families and employees on a daily basis. He/she is responsible for the overall operations, integration, and coordination of nursing and patient care for the assigned Units. Additionally, he/she is responsible for ensuring that the care delivery is consistent with the mission and vision of Cedar Haven Healthcare Center, where we are dedicated to the well-being of our residents and the professionalism of our facility. This includes mentoring and educating nurses, working with physicians and other medical professionals, and serving as a resource to all staff within the unit regarding the quality of services provided. This professional may also provide direct patient care at times along with the other unit nurses to maintain current skills.
WORK SCHEDULE FOR A UNIT MANAGER:
Our Unit Managers are scheduled to work day shift from Monday through Friday, though some off-shifts are expected.
UNIT MANAGER POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
– Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing with proven leadership experience for a minimum of one year.
– Long-term care experience is preferred.
– Knowledge of PointClickCare preferred.
