The Production Mechanic I is responsible to perform repairs and preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of all plant process and materials handling equipment. However, frequency performed and shift assignment and area(s) of specific responsibilities for frozen production, fluid production, process equipment and controls and warehouse equipment may determine level of proficiency. This individual will have the ability to troubleshoot all equipment in each department within this operation. The Maintenance Mechanic I complies with the United States Public Health (USPH), Turkey Hill Dairy, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) regulations and safety guidelines.

*High school diploma or equivalent
Physical Demands-
*The employee is required to talk and/or hear in an office setting (noise level is low) and manufacturing setting where noise levels can be high (PPE required).
*The employee is frequently required to stand and walk in an office or manufacturing environment from 4-8+ hours.
*The employee must be able to ascend and descend stairs, and where applicable and when necessary, to perform various job-related tasks
*Must be able to position self to move, reach with arms/hands, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed to perform various job-related tasks
*The employee must be able to inspect all job-related equipment (office or floor) to ensure it is in good working condition prior to use. Must be able to use hands/fingers to handle (or feel) to operate various types of office equipment.
*Must be able to operate all job-related equipment (powered, hand or office) as required
*Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception and adjust focus
*Ability to lift 20 pounds and/or push/pull 20 pounds on a regular or occasional basis
