Located in Lancaster, PA, Landis Valley Village & Farm Museum is a 100-acre, living history complex that preserves and interprets Pennsylvania’s agricultural history and Pennsylvania German heritage using an historic village, collections, demonstration areas, and a working landscape of grounds, gardens, pastures, woodlots, and farm plots to support public programs and special events.

This position supports daily maintenance and repair work that helps keep the Landis Valley Village and Farm Museum safe, functional, and ready for visitors. The role involves hands-on tasks across multiple trades and contributes to smooth site operations throughout the year. As a Maintenance Repairman 1, you will perform the following duties:

Building Maintenance: Complete routine repairs and assist with preventative work on structures and building systems
Grounds Work: Perform mowing, trimming, snow removal, and seasonal upkeep around the site
Equipment Use: Operate and maintain tools and machinery needed for daily maintenance tasks
Site Readiness: Help keep museum areas clean, safe, and prepared for visitors and programs
Event Support: Assist with setup and breakdown for special events and activities

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment
Work hours are 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM, Tuesday – Saturday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Two years of experience in general maintenance work which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

Special Requirements:

This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.

Additional Requirements:

You must have two or more years of experience which has involved at least two of the following:
Operation and maintenance of equipment, hand tools, and power tools
Operation and maintenance of vehicles including trucks, utility vehicles, lawn mowers, and snow removal equipment
Completing routine building repairs involving but not limited to plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC systems
Performing groundskeeping work and snow removal
Identifying maintenance issues and solving problems
Performing skilled and heavy manual labor indoors and outdoors
Communicating effectively both orally, electronically, and in writing
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
