DETAILS
• Dauphin and York County Prisons
• 6A – 6:30P or
• 6P – 6:30A
• Licensed Practical Nurses $30 – $41 per hour (rates differ slightly per location)
o Signing bonus $5,000 – $20,000 (bonuses differ per location)
• Registered Nurses $40 – $52 per hour (rates differ slightly per location)
o Signing bonus $5,000 – $25,000 (bonuses differ per location)
• Eligible for annual MVP bonus program to earn an additional (up to) 10% of your base salary

• Mediko, Inc., is not agency – this is direct hire, permanent employment
• Offers are extended to nurses with temporary licenses when testing date is scheduled. Nurses must be fully licensed for employment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Correctional nurses must have strong assessment skills and emotional stability, providing care that is often a mix of emergency, primary, and public health nursing.
• Intake and Assessment: Evaluating new inmates for health issues, communicable diseases, and withdrawal risks upon arrival.
• Emergency Response: Providing urgent care for injuries, seizures, overdoses, or mental health crises.
• Chronic Disease Management: Treating conditions such as diabetes, HIV, and hypertension, often with limited resources.
• Medication Management: Distributing medications and monitoring compliance and side effects.
• Patient Education: Teaching inmates about hygiene, disease prevention, and self-care.
• Safety and Collaboration: Working within security protocols and coordinating with security staff for a safe environment.
