Objective:
We are seeking a skilled Fleet Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered vehicles, including trucks, trailers, and other heavy equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, and diagnostics software.
Responsibilities:
– Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks, to ensure the optimal performance and longevity of fleet vehicles.
– Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues with diesel engines and related systems.
– Conduct thorough inspections of fleet vehicles to identify and address potential problems before they escalate.
Execute complex repairs and overhauls on engines, transmissions, brakes, and other components, following manufacturer guidelines and safety protocols.
– Utilize diagnostic tools and software to pinpoint issues and implement effective solutions efficiently.
– Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including parts usage, labor hours, and service history.
– Collaborate with other team members to coordinate maintenance schedules and minimize downtime for fleet vehicles.
– Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies to promote a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
– Experience in recovering broke down equipment.
Qualifications:
– High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a formal diesel mechanic training program is preferred.
– Certification as a Diesel Mechanic or equivalent credentials from a recognized institution.
– Proven experience working as a diesel mechanic, preferably in a fleet or heavy equipment environment.
– Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems, including fuel injection, exhaust systems, and emissions controls.
– Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing electrical and hydraulic systems in diesel-powered vehicles.
– Familiarity with diagnostic tools and software, such as computerized diagnostic equipment and service manuals.
– Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
– Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
– Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
– Valid CDL Class A driver's license and clean driving record.

Supervisor: Lead Mechanic
Location: Mount Joy, PA
Schedule:
– Monday – Friday
– 7:30AM – 5:00PM
– As needed nights and weekends
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 – $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
