As a Hydro Excavation Technician, you will drive and operate the support truck, which carries additional piping, materials and safety equipment for the separate vacuum excavation truck, which is operated by the Foreman. As a Hydro Excavation Technician, you will assist the Hydro Excavation Foreman with excavating services by using pressurized water and a vacuum system to safely, precisely and efficiently dig around utilities, pipelines and numerous other applications. Your work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions. Class B or higher CDL is NOT required for this position but you must be willing to obtain such license.
Responsibilities and Duties
Timely Task Completion and Customer Service: Perform assigned tasks efficiently and provide exceptional customer service.
Safety Training and Responsibility: Ensure you are properly trained and take responsibility for your own safety, as well as the safety of others, including Ecotech employees, customers, and the general public. This includes maintaining up-to-date certifications and licenses.
Adherence to Safety Policies: Understand and comply with company safety policies, regulations, practices, and all applicable laws in the performance of your duties.
Support in Construction Activities: Assist in all phases of construction activities, including equipment mobilization and operation, truck maintenance, organization of project supplies, general job site cleanup, and attendance at safety meetings.
Assistance with Excavation Activities: Support the foreman with various excavation tasks near utilities, such as core drilling, shoveling, tamping, backfilling, and other general construction labor.
Truck and Equipment Maintenance: Aid the foreman in operating and maintaining trucks and associated hoses. The hoses typically weigh 50 pounds or more and are operated manually. You must be able to lift 50 pounds to waist height.
Mechanical Proficiency: Possess the mechanical skills necessary to evaluate and repair minor issues with trucks and other equipment.
Professional Conduct: Conduct yourself in a manner that positively represents both yourself and Ecotech.
Physical Capability: Be capable of performing repetitive physical tasks, including sitting, lifting, stooping, bending, squatting, kneeling, reaching, and crawling. Occasionally climbing ladders, working at heights and in confined spaces.
Limited Use of Mobile Devices: Refrain from extensive use of mobile phones and other devices during working hours, from the time the truck departs from the Shop Location until it returns.
Proactive Reporting: Report any issues that may impact the company or its employees to management immediately upon discovery.
Outdoor Work Readiness: Be prepared to work in all outdoor conditions for extended periods.
Organizational and Technical Skills: Maintain organizational skills and possess the necessary computer proficiency to accurately input work orders and record time.

Proximity to Shop Location: Ideally, reside within thirty (30) minutes of the Shop Location during standard commuting hours, considering typical traffic conditions. Willingness to report during non-standard hours in the event of an emergency is required.
Experience Requirements: Prior experience is not required.
