Brethren Village Retirement Community, in Lititz, PA, is seeking a dependable and friendly individual to join our Concierge team. This is a part-time / scheduled as-needed position, including some weekday and weekend work hours.

The Concierge serves as the primary point of contact for Residents and guests of Brethren Village, and provides exceptional customer service at all times. The Concierge is friendly and approachable, and demonstrates, by the manner in which job duties are performed, that he/she is pleased to assist Residents and others.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

greeting and welcoming Residents, their family members, and others visitors to Brethren Village
performing symptom-screening of visitors as necessary (taking their forehead temperature, asking about any COVID-19 symptoms)
responding to phone calls and requests for information and assistance in a prompt and courteous manner; appropriately following-up on requests
routing housekeeping, IT, and maintenance requests
completing data entry; tracking information; maintaining spreadsheets and databases as needed
preparing mail and packages on behalf of Residents, and distributing mail as needed
preparing and posting announcements and activities calendars; registering Residents for activities, and accurately tracking registrations
copying materials for Residents; assisting with other clerical-related requests
completing various forms and reports and preparing correspondence; completing other clerical duties as requested
providing administrative assistance for special projects and events

Work Schedule:

Part-time: day shift; typically 8 to 24 hours per week; work days and hours will likely vary from week to week; the Concierge will fill-in for other Concierge staff when needed, including on weekdays and weekends


full vaccination against COVID-19 is required, per federal regulations
a high school diploma or G.E.D.
dependability: ability and willingness to meet attendance standards
the ability to read and to complete online training independently
ability and willingness to consistently work in a safe and alert manner, and to report to work fit for duty; commitment to wearing protective equipment as required for the position, and adhering to all health and safety standards

Additional Requirements for This Position:

at least 1 year of prior, related experience as a receptionist, office or administrative assistant, customer service specialist, or concierge
must be comfortable and enjoy interacting with older adult Residents
must provide exceptional customer service at all times, and deal with difficult situations in a professional and courteous manner
must be able to remain calm in a fast-paced environment
must be able to work effectively with frequent interruptions
must handle petty cash in a responsible manner
accurate data entry skills; strong verbal and written communication skills; and basic math skills are necessary
effective computer skills: the ability to access and navigate web sites; use applications and databases independently; proficiency with Word, Excel, and Outlook email
flexibility with work schedule is essential, and willingness to work when needed
