Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Rigger/Mechanic with a CDL license to join our field operations team. This hybrid role involves operating commercial trucks to transport sensitive medical equipment, as well as performing rigging and mechanical duties during equipment moves and installations. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and experienced with rigging tools, load handling, and DOT-regulated driving.
This position reports to the Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate commercial vehicles (box trucks, flatbeds, or tractor-trailers) to transport medical equipment to customer sites.
Assist with rigging, lifting, and placement of large and delicate medical devices using specialized tools and equipment (e.g., cranes, forklifts, gantries, dollies).
Load and secure cargo safely according to DOT and company standards.
Support equipment disassembly/reassembly during installations and removals.
Perform routine mechanical tasks including leveling, bolting/unbolting, and light troubleshooting on-site.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment.
Coordinate with project teams and customers to ensure timely and safe deliveries.
Follow all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and site-specific procedures.
Maintain tools, rigging gear, and company equipment in good working condition.
Maintain accurate driving logs and project-related documentation.
Qualifications:
Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
Minimum 1 to 2 years of experience in commercial driving and/or rigging or mechanical work.
Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, lift gates, and basic hand tools.
Strong understanding of load securing and DOT safety regulations.
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physical work on job sites.
Willingness to travel regionally and work flexible hours as needed.
Excellent communication, reliability, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred but Not Required:
OSHA 10 or 30 certification
NCCCO Rigger certification or similar credentials
Previous experience with medical equipment handling or industrial rigging
