Broadcast Technologist – Engineering Technician

WGAL-TV, the Hearst-owned NBC affiliate in the Harrisburg-Lancaster-Lebanon-York, Pennsylvania, market has an immediate opening for a Broadcast Technologist. This is a great opportunity for a seasoned industry veteran – or even an entry-level candidate with the right mix of skills and interests – to work for a leader in the broadcast industry that has the resources to foster career growth through a combination of training, mentoring, and hands-on experience.

What is the job?

The Broadcast Technologist works with the station Engineering team to maintain, repair and upgrade equipment covering all aspects of our operation from IT systems to cameras and transmitters.

Do you consider yourself a “maker”? If you are someone with a passion for cutting-edge technology, who is interested in 3D printing, has experience with a soldering iron and basic components or has ever built your own PC – we want to hear from you.

What skills are we looking for?

-Self-starter

-Team-oriented attitude

-Virtual systems (VMWare)

-Basic IP networking

-Troubleshooting

-Ability to read drawings and diagrams

-Basic knowledge of electronics and component repair

Prior experience in a broadcast facility is desirable but not required.

This is an in-person position and does not include remote work.
