What is the Transportation Center?

The Transportation Center consists of four full-day programs: Automotive Technology, Collision Repair, Diesel Equipment Technology, and RV & Outdoor Power Equipment. Each program introduces students to parts of vehicles, how to use tools and power equipment, how to diagnose and repair vehicles, and employability skills for the transportation industry. All programs offer students the opportunity to earn industry-specific certifications and experience cooperative education, meaning that students can work out in the field during school day to get a better picture for what a day in the life of a transportation professional will be like.

What You Will Learn

Service cars, small and large trucks, small engine vehicles, and auto body repair; Learn about brakes, electronics, engines, steering, suspension, alignment, HVAC, preventative maintenance, and repair.

  • In many cases, students can earn between 3 and 13 college credits during their senior year.
  • Depending on the program, students have the opportunity to participate in work-based learning (co-op).
  • Students earn a diploma from their sending school AND a certificate of completion from the Lancaster County Career & Technology Center.
