Dual Credits
Our Dual Credit Program gives qualified high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to earn credits towards both their high school and higher education transcripts. We offer dual credit opportunities in the following programs:
- Automotive Technology
- Medical Assistant
- Nursing Assistant
- Patient Care Technician
- Advanced Health Careers
Upon graduating high school, students will receive a college transcript that they can use towards a higher education program at the Lancaster County Career & Technology Center or other institutions of higher learning. Students interested in earning dual credits must talk to their counselor to ensure they meet the grade, attendance, and work-ethic requirements.
Early Enrollment
Our Early Enrollment Program allows qualified high school seniors from participating districts to enroll in our higher education programs “early” and earn credit towards an associates degree without paying tuition. Following high school graduation, students can continue their studies here, or they can use the credits earned towards a degree at another postsecondary institution. After graduation, students will be expected to pay for the remaining tuition needed to receive their degree. However, because they won’t need to repeat some classes, they can earn their degree at a significant discount.
We currently offer early enrollment opportunities in the following programs:
- Automotive
- Practical Nursing
*Not all sending districts participate in our Early Enrollment Program. Check with your counselor to learn more.
SOAR Program
SOAR (Students Occupationally and Academically Ready) is a statewide program that lets high school students earn credits towards their postsecondary degree, diploma, or certificate. Think of SOAR as just one more option for earning dual credits. Qualifying students are eligible to apply for credits up to 16 months after their high school graduation date.
