Students are eligible for CO-OP upon completing 750 hours of the Welding Technology program and completing their task grid.

Certifications Opportunity 

D.1.1 Weld Test


The full-time Welding Technology Program prepares students to take the D1.1 weld test after completion of the program. The D1.1 weld test is an out-of-pocket cost and not part of tuition costs.

Career Pathways

Commercial Welder

Use hand-welding, flame-cutting, hand-soldering, or brazing equipment to weld or join metal components or to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products.

Pipe Fitter

Assemble, install, alter, and repair pipelines or pipe systems that carry water, steam, air, or other liquids or gasses. May install heating and cooling equipment and mechanical control systems. This career path includes sprinkler fitters.

Weld Operators

Set up, operate, or tend welding, soldering, or brazing machines or robots that weld, braze, solder, or heat treat metal products, components, or assemblies. This career path includes workers who operate laser cutters or laser-beam machines.
