CREDENTIALS You’ll Earn

You will be eligible to sit for the NBDHE. Passing the national written exam is required to apply for state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist.

In the last semester, students are eligible to sit for this examination. The clinical examination is required to apply for state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist.

Skills You’ll Learn

Oral Assessment

In our Dental Hygiene Clinic, students provide patient assessment and identify problems. Once a problem has been identified, students plan an intervention, implement their intervention plans, evaluate the results, and document patient procedures.

Patient Care

In addition to regularly providing assessments, treatments, and cleanings at our Dental Hygiene Clinic, students will also perform radiographic and other diagnostic procedures and administer local anesthetics.

Professionalism

Demonstrate ethics and professionalism while effectively communicating with colleagues and patients regarding dental hygiene diagnoses and treatments.
