Certifications You’ll Earn

Safety comes first! Students will earn their OSHA Certification at the beginning of the year to understand all of the safety regulations for their lab space.

This Certification from the American Heart Association teaches CPR and AED skills for prehospital and in-facility environments.

Gain the certification needed  to become a direct care staff person in a Personal Care Home (PCH) or Assisted Living Residence (ALR).

Career Pathways

Certified Nursing Assistant

Provide basic care and support under the direction of licensed nursing staff. Perform duties such as monitoring health status, feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, or helping patients walk in a health or nursing facility. You may also administer medication. Career options include nursing care attendants, nursing aides, and nursing attendants.

Home Health Care Aide

Monitor the health of an individual with disabilities or illness and address their health-related needs (such as dressing wounds or administering medication). Work is performed under the direction of licensed nursing staff. Provide assistance with routine healthcare tasks or activities of daily living, such as feeding, bathing, toileting, or walking. May also help with tasks such as cooking, light housekeeping, and laundry.

Personal Care Aide

Provide personalized assistance to individuals with disabilities or illness who require help with personal care and daily activities (like feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and walking). You may also provide help with tasks such as preparing meals, doing light housekeeping, and doing laundry. Work is performed in various settings, including the patient’s home, out in the community, or at a daytime nonresidential facility.
