Safety comes first! Students will earn their OSHA Certification at the beginning of the year to understand all of the safety regulations for their lab space.

Gain the knowledge and tools necessary to communicate and provide expert guidance for clients about their pet’s nutritional needs.
Career Pathways
Feed, water, and examine pets and other non-farm animals for signs of illness, disease, or injury in laboratories, animal hospitals, and clinics. Clean and disinfect cages and work areas, and sterilize laboratory and surgical equipment. You may provide routine postoperative care, administer medication orally or topically, or prepare samples for laboratory examination under the supervision of veterinary or laboratory animal technologists, technicians, veterinarians, or scientists.
Perform various grooming duties necessary to improve pets’ hygiene and enhance their physical appearance. Bathe, brush, and dry pets, clean their teeth and ears, as well as trim their nails and hair/fur.
Work in a Veterinary setting Preparing vaccines and serums for prevention of diseases. Prepare tissue samples, take blood samples, and execute laboratory tests, such as urinalysis and blood counts. Clean and sterilize instruments and materials and maintain equipment and machines. May assist a veterinarian during surgery. * Post-Secondary Education required Students can continue studies in the Adult Veterinary Technology AST program also located at the Willow Street campus
