Certifications You’ll Earn

Safety comes first at the Career & Technology Center! Students will earn their OSHA Certification at the beginning of the year to understand all of the safety regulations for their lab space.

Understand the basic safety practices for voltages up to 600 volts and knowledge of voltage, current and power in AC and DC circuits, circuit analysis of series and parallel loads, and basic understanding of resistors, capacitors, and inductors.

You’ll be licensed to maintain, service, repair, or dispose of equipment that could release refrigerants into the atmosphere.

Career Pathways

Electromechanical Engineering

Operate, test, maintain, or adjust unmanned, automated, servo mechanical, or electromechanical equipment. You may operate unmanned submarines, aircraft, or other equipment to observe or record visual information at sites such as oil rigs, crop fields, buildings, infrastructure, deep ocean environments, or hazardous waste sites. You may also help engineers in testing and designing robotics equipment. *Post-Secondary Degree may be required

Engineering Technician

Apply electrical and electronic theory and related knowledge—usually under the direction of engineering staff—to design, build, repair, adjust, and modify electrical components, circuitry, controls, and machinery for subsequent evaluation and use by engineering staff in making engineering design decisions.

Industrial Engineering Technician

Apply engineering theory and principles to problems of industrial layout or manufacturing production, usually under the direction of engineering staff. You may perform time and motion studies on worker operations in a variety of industries for purposes such as establishing standard production rates or improving efficiency.
