ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Support Production, by making sure all machinery is maintained and running
without interruption or minimal interruption to the production flow.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance and fill out necessary paperwork
• All physical functions to perform maintenance tasks, bending, twisting,
stretching, stooping, kneeling, lifting, ascending and descending ladders and
platforms.
• Must have good overall machinery knowledge, single and three phase electrical,
plumbing, HVAC, hand and power tools, blueprint and schematics.
• Goal oriented with a strong desire to continue learning and developing skills
through additional training.
• Willing to work overtime as required depending on machinery issues, time
restraints for production, or need to have things fixed before the following day.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
• Candidates should have 3 years’ minimum experience in the maintenance field,
preferably wood working or metal working.
• Will accept a graduate student with credentials from a technical institute relating
to maintenance who is eager to pursue a career.
• Possess a positive can-do attitude with an emphasis on doing things right.
• Must be neat, organized, self-motivated, willing to learn and share ideas, work in
adverse conditions, resourceful, accountable, and safety minded.
To Perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential
duty satisfactorily.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
• Use a tape measure and caliper
• Complete knowledge and understanding of company and machinery safety
regulations; to include lock-out tag-out, confined space, ladders
• Valid Pa driver’s license
• Handle lifting up to 60 lbs
• Knowledge with hands on experience including aptitude for repairs and maintenance
procedures
• Familiar with machinery and related equipment
• Willing to become forklift and scissor lift certified
• Have welding experience or willing to learn how to weld
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an
employee encounters while performing the essential functions of a maintenance person.
The plants are not air conditioned in the summer, so it does get hot inside. There are
heaters in the building running during the cold months but would recommend a
sweatshirt.
You will be outside in the snow to clear and/or salt doorways, ramps, docks, and
walkways.
You will at times have to work in the wind and the rain to get equipment up and running
Basically, in order to support production and/or keep things running you will be working
in a lot of adverse conditions including but not limited to: Snow, wind, rain, sleet, dust,
foul odors, confined spaces, heights, dirt, grime and grease.
