Bunker Hill Veterinary Hospital, P.C. is seeking full-time Certified Veterinary Technician(s) for our busy and expanding general dog and cat practice. Experience preferred, but we are willing to train. Candidates must be friendly, respectful, motivated, willing to improve their skills and be able to multitask, communicate clearly, stay organized, and work hard. The individual must be able to lift patients and pet food up to 50 pounds repeatedly on a daily basis. Excellent, safe animal handling and compassionate restraint skills are essential.

Responsibilities: Licensed veterinary nurses have numerous responsibilities within their roles. This includes technical skill as well conveying knowledge and professionalism. In this setting, CVTs:
– Collect specimens
– Take radiographs
– Administer sedation or anesthetics
– Monitor anesthesia
– Administer vaccines
– Assist veterinarians in routine and sick exams
– Carrying out diagnostic and therapeutic plans
– Prepare animals for surgical procedures
– Sterilize instruments and other items for surgical procedures
– Oversee assistants to maintain a clean care facility
– Obtain patient case histories and presenting complaints
– Obtain vital signs and objective data

Education/Requirements:
– High school diploma
– Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Veterinary Technology from a school of veterinary technology accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA)
– Passing score on the Veterinary Technician National Exam (VTNE)
– Active licensure with the Pennsylvania state board

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Salary: $18 – $23/hr, commensurate with experience
