This course provides students with 100 hours of classroom instruction and 300 hours of hands-on learning to operate equipment.
- Classroom instruction will include safety guidelines for personal safety, trenching, and heavy equipment operations as wells as preventive maintenance, blue print reading, use of grade instruments and hands-on training on equipment.
- Type of equipment operated will include: skid loaders, rollers, crawler loader, hydraulic excavator, bulldozer, backhoe, wheel loader, mini excavator and articulated dump trucks. If qualifications are met, students will earn their NCCER Heavy Equipment Operations Apprenticeship Level 1 with completion of the program.

Mon-Thurs 6:30 AM-4:30 PM
*Supplies needed for class: A pair of work gloves, book bag, highlighter, pen and a notebook to take notes if you choose to, and a lunch. Lunch is a half hour. We do not supply coffee. Steel toed boots are required. Shorts are NOT allowed. NO sleeveless shirts. Please wear school appropriate shirts. Be prepared for the weather. No smoking on school grounds.
The cost of the class includes books, tools, LCCTC t-shirt, hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs and class instruction.
