Woodworking/Carpentry Position

Full-time Position, Available on: 2023-06-12


Woodshop personnel have four main responsibilities: planning and constructing basic woodshop projects for children to build; teaching campers proper use of tools and woodshop safety protocols; overseeing and assisting campers as they build wooden projects, and maintaining a woodshop.

General Camp responsibilities include cabin and hill responsibilities and assignments related to special events.


-Significant experience using a variety of power tools, including table and miter saws, drills, sanders, routers, and jigsaws.
-Significant experience using a variety of hand tools, including chisels, crosscut saws, coping saws, combination squares, clamps, etc.
-The ability to teach woodworking skills: cutting, measuring, sawing, fastening, glueing, nailing, clamping, sanding, etc.
-The ability to select age-appropriate and engaging projects for campers, and to create samples of each project.
-A knowledge of various finishing techniques for woodshop projects, including painting, staining, varnishing, etc.
-The ability to keep woodshop tools sharpened, organized and in good repair.
-A genuine enthusiasm for teaching children woodworking skills.
Starting Wage is $2,500 plus room and board for the summer
