Brethren Village Retirement Community has opportunities for caring and dependable Registered Nurses. Opportunities are available in our 120-bed Skilled Nursing Facility and in our 20-bed Short Term Rehabilitation Center. A variety of work schedules are available. Brethren Village’s RN’s provide the highest-quality clinical care, while fostering positive and supportive relationships with Residents to enhance their physical, cognitive, and emotional well-being. Our RN’s work cooperatively with C.N.A.’s, LPN’s, RN Clinical Care Coordinators, and the Director of Nursing to manage disease and provide direct patient care.

Brethren Village offers weekend-only schedules; RN’s who commit to working 48 weekends per year receive a 50% pay premium during all weekend work hours.
Brethren Village offers some Monday through Friday schedules (no weekend work).
Brethren Village provides competitive starting rates of pay – $30.00 per hour minimum, with higher rates for those with work experience as an RN.
Brethren Village offers generous shift differentials ($3.00 extra per hour on the evening shift, and $2.00 extra per hour on the night shift) and weekend incentives ($1.00 extra per hour).

Primary Responsibilities Include:
evaluating Residents and providing direct clinical care to Residents in skilled care areas, including giving medications and carefully observing and documenting health status
keeping accurate charts and documentation
helping to ensure regulatory compliance with respect to nursing practices
providing effective coaching and guidance to C.N.A.’s, Therapeutic Recreation Assistants, and other Team Members to promote professional nursing practices; to foster quality clinical care; and to promote Team Member engagement and professional development
participating in department and other meetings as required
Brethren Village offers a variety of work schedules to meet your needs, including some weekend-only schedules with a 50% pay premium. Typical work schedules in our Skilled Nursing Facility and Short Term Rehabilitation Center include:
Full-time: 6:45 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.; 6:45 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.; 2:45 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.; 6:45 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.; OR 10:45 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
Part-time: a variety of work schedules, including some weekend-only schedules with a 50% pay premium
PRN: opportunities are available on all shifts (bonuses, incentives, and shift differentials do not apply to PRN positions)
The RN may serve in the on-call rotation, and may work every other weekend and holiday.
Required Core Competencies and Qualifications:
a high school diploma or G.E.D.
dependability: ability and willingness to meet attendance standards
basic computer skills: the ability to access and navigate web sites, and use applications and databases independently
the ability to read and to complete online training independently
ability and willingness to consistently work in a safe and alert manner, and to report to work fit for duty; commitment to wearing protective equipment as required for the position, and adhering to all health and safety standards
the ability and willingness to interact in a productive and professional manner with colleagues
the ability to form positive and supportive relationships with Residents and other clients, and to provide exceptional care and service to others

Additional Requirements for This Position:
valid PA RN license
current CPR and First Aid certification
at least 1 year of related nursing experience in a long-term care, rehab., or acute care setting preferred
disease and case management experience
dementia experience preferred
experience in a leadership or mentoring role
ability and willingness to provide effective guidance and coaching to C.N.A.’s and other Team Members, and to work collaboratively with other staff for the benefit of Residents
the ability to safely transfer Residents, properly using mechanical lifts when necessary (consistent adherence to safe lifting and transfer procedures is required); to safely push adult Residents in wheel chairs; to reach, bend, stand, and walk frequently during the shift
the ability to quickly and safely assist Residents during emergency evacuations and other emergency situations
the ability to remain calm and provide effective care in a fast-paced environment
thorough understanding of HIPAA regulations
ability and willingness to work every other weekend and holiday
