Description

Brethren Village Retirement Community, in Lititz, PA, is hiring full-time and part-time Resident Dining Aides. No prior experience is needed; we will provide training.

We have opportunities for Lead Resident Dining Aides ($15.00 per hour starting rate); Global Resident Dining Aides ($13.00 per hour starting rate); Resident Dining Aides ($12.00 per hour starting rate). These are great positions for those considering a career in a healthcare or hospitality field.

Resident Dining Aides provide service to our older adult Residents in a friendly, helpful, and caring manner. The Resident Dining Aide prepares / sets-up dining areas and cleans dining areas; delivers meals to dining areas; may assist Residents to serve and cut their food during mealtimes; and initiates conversations with Residents during meals. The Resident Dining Aide works cooperatively with nursing staff, C.N.A.’s, and other Team Members, and provides excellent service at all times to Residents.

Resident Dining Aides must be able to stand and walk frequently during their shift; carry trays; push carts; push Residents in wheelchairs as needed.

Work Schedules

Full-time, benefits-eligible: 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., or 10:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m., including every other Saturday, Sunday, and holiday. Work days will vary from week to week.
Part-time: morning, day, or early evening hours, including every other Saturday, Sunday, and holiday. Work days will vary from week to week.

Requirements
full vaccination against COVID-19 is required, per federal regulations
a high school diploma or G.E.D., or currently-enrolled student at least age 16
dependability: ability and willingness to meet attendance standards
basic computer skills: the ability to access and navigate web sites, and use applications and databases independently
the ability to read and to complete online training independently
ability and willingness to consistently work in a safe and alert manner, and to report to work fit for duty; commitment to wearing protective equipment as required for the position, and adhering to all health and safety standards
the ability and willingness to interact in a professional and friendly manner with colleagues
the ability to provide exceptional service to others

Additional Requirements for This Position:

must be at least age 16
must be comfortable and able to engage with older adult Residents, including those with memory loss or dementia
basic food preparation skills helpful but not required for all positions; we will provide training
the ability to work in a hygienic manner at all times
effective interpersonal and communication skills; must be comfortable initiating and maintaining mealtime conversations with Residents, and assisting Residents to eat their meals
the ability to stand and walk frequently; carry trays; push carts; push adult Residents in wheelchairs
understanding of HIPAA privacy regulations
a sincere interest in serving an older adult population, including Residents with dementia
must be available to work every other Saturday, Sunday, and holiday
