The Department of Human Services, North Central Secure Treatment Unit is seeking a dedicated Refrigeration/HVAC Mechanic that takes pride in keeping buildings and grounds safe from hazards, comfortable for the residents, and practical for employees. Must be a hard-working, energetic, and reliable individual that can work independently and as part of our trusted maintenance team.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
You will be assigned to the Maintenance Department and responsible for skilled work at the journey level in the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration and/or heating; and ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems, units, equipment, and peripheral devices on the campus of the North Central Secure Treatment Unit (NCSTU).

Hours of work: 7:00am-3:00pm, Monday-Friday, 30-minute lunch.
Travel: As needed.
Overtime: As needed and may be called for emergencies.
Shift Work: No.
Must be willing to accept employment at North Central Secure Treatment Unit and commute to this location in Danville, Montour County.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements – Two years of experience in the maintenance, repair, or installation of refrigeration and HVAC systems, units, and equipment; OR An associate’s degree in refrigeration/HVAC systems; OR Successful completion of a two-year post-secondary technical refrigeration/HVAC training program; OR An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirement – All employees must obtain an active Universal Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certificate from an approved provider within six months of employment in this job.
