Summary
To strive in your daily performance to ensure that the highest quality and level of service are provided to our Guests. Prep cooks must demonstrate on a daily basis their ability to perform basic cooking skills in preparation of vegetables, sauces, soups, etc, and maintaining prep level systems at all times.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Prepares a variety of foods such as vegetables, sauces, soups, etc., as directed by the Sous
Chef/Manager in charge.

Cooks and service of food in accordance with the restaurant’s quality and service standards.

Ensures quality of food products by tasting, smelling and looking at product.

Maintains restaurant prep level systems. Ensures all par levels are filled, labeled and dated

Receives and accounts for supplies and deliveries.

Ensures safety and cleanliness of all kitchen and food storage areas.

Follows the restaurants correct sanitation and hygienic food handling practices, regular cleaning, and waster disposal practices.

Uses safe work practices and support others to use them.

Maintains kitchen equipment in good condition.

Possesses the ability to multi task in a high-volume environment.

Helps to foster good communication among floor staff and kitchen crew.

Promotes harmonious environment among all staff within the restaurant.

Communicates all concerns to the Sous Chef.

Due to seasonal needs within the Hospitality Industry it may be necessary to adjust schedules to meet the demands of our business.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience
Culinary Degree; or up to 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Hilton Brand Training upon hire
Serve Safe Certification preferred

Safety Policies and Practices
The Team Member in this position is responsible for following Willow Valley’s safety policies and procedures, promoting safety, and identifying areas for improvement. The Team Member must be knowledgeable about and follow Willow Valley’s Safety Manual. The Team Member will be reviewed annually on workplace safety. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this Job, the Team Member is regularly required to stand; talk or hear and taste or smell. The Team Member is frequently required to bend. The Team Member is occasionally required to move 11-50 lbs; move 50+ lbs; sit; stoop, kneel, squat; climb or balance and reach with hands and arms. Ability to work 8-hour shifts or longer if needed.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this Job, the Team Member is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
