Pediatric LPN

Full-time, Part-time Position, Available on: 2024-01-02

UPMC’s Hershey Pediatrics is looking to add a part-time LPN to their busy pediatric office. The LPN provides professional nursing care to office patients under supervision of patient care providers.

HOURS: Office hours are 8am-9pm Mon and Wed, 8am-5pm Tue, Thu, Fri. Position is regular, part-time with minimum 24 hours per week. Schedule includes 1 evening per week. Routine schedule from week to week. No regular weekends, assist with Annual Flu Shot Clinic held 2-3 Saturday’s each Fall season, no other weekends during the year.

Responsibilities:

Room patients, assess patient’s general condition, take vital signs and weight.
Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments.
Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions.
Prepare in house testing and immunizations for administration.
Follow up with patient calls/test results
Triage parent inquiries for treatment, etc
Draw blood.
Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).
Administer medications including oral, SQ, IM and IV drip.
Comply with all policies and procedures.
Perform IV therapy under direction of Registered Nurse.
Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.
Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.
Qualifications:

Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing.
One-year clinical experience preferred, but not required.
Open to new LPN graduates
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire

Clearances must be dated within 90 days

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) OR Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
Act 33 with renewal
Act 34 with renewal
Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
