Description

Brethren Village Retirement Community, in Lititz, PA, is seeking a dependable Medical Transportation Escort & Driver, with Nurse Aide Certification. The Medical Transportation Escort & Driver is responsible for assisting to transport Residents to their off-campus medical appointments. This requires safely assisting Residents to get on and off the vehicle; securing Residents with ambulatory needs on the medical transport bus; driving Residents to and from appointments in an S.U.V. or minivan when needed.

The Medical Transportation Escort & Driver:

Must be a Certified Nurse Aide (C.N.A.), and may serve as a C.N.A. in our Skilled Nursing Facility when needed.
Must have a valid PA driver’s license, personal auto insurance, and safe driving record.
Takes phone calls from Residents for pick-up for medical appointments. Accurately inputs information on mobile devices and tablets, and uses other technology to track trips.
Safely assists Residents as needed to get on and off the bus. Assists Residents with limited mobility.
Rides with Residents to appointments. Appropriately responds to situations that may arise during travel to appointments.
Drives Residents to and from off-campus medical appointments when needed, in a Brethren Village vehicle (either an S.U.V. or minivan).
During employment, abides by all provisions of Brethren Village’s Vehicle Safety policy, including maintaining a valid PA driver’s license; completing related training; maintaining a driving record free from serious or multiple violations; maintaining personal auto insurance.

Available Work Schedules:

Full-time: 40 hours per week; hours are generally between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday; the full-time Medical Transportation Escort will serve as a C.N.A. in our Skilled Nursing Facility during part of the work week if needed

Part-time: approximately 15 – 25 hours per week; hours are generally between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday; hours and work days will vary from week to week

Requirements

a high school diploma or G.E.D.

Additional Requirements for This Position:

at least age 21
must possess and maintain a valid PA Nurse Aide Certification (C.N.A.)
at least 2 years of prior experience working as a C.N.A. in a retirement community or similar facility
must have had a valid PA driver’s license for at least 2 years; a driving record free from serious or multiple violations; proof of personal auto insurance
at least 1 year of professional driving experience desired
ability to safely assist Residents onto and off of buses and minivans; the ability to stand, reach, bend, and push wheelchairs safely
effective customer service skills; willingness and ability to interact in a positive, professional, and friendly manner with older adult Residents and with co-workers
ability to independently and accurately enter data in a computerized database
