We are seeking a positive, hard-working, and ambitious Mechanical Drafter/Designer with a proven ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment while avoiding costly errors to ensure our customers’ sales orders are of the highest accuracy and quality. The candidate should be an individual with a curious mind and a desire to be part of the continuous evolution and improvement of our growing company.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and execute steps required for processing custom design of components, subsystems, and systems
Create proposal and approval drawings for use by sales to sell Spanco’s products
Perform layouts and designs of components, subsystems, and systems for sales orders
Draw parts to scale as required for fabrication or purchasing, using AutoCAD or SolidWorks software
Identify Sales Order circumstances where engineering calculations are required and notify Engineers accordingly
Assemble bills of material within the company’s ERP software to complete the documentation of sales orders
Draw wiring schematics for motorized systems
Identify potential R&D projects and divert them into proper channels
Communicate with sales, purchasing, and production on sales order design-related issues
Qualifications/Required Skills:
Minimum 2-year Drafting School diploma, 2-year Associate of Science in Mechanical Engineering preferred
General engineering and architectural drafting techniques, terminology, geometry, methods, and practices
AutoCAD and SolidWorks experience
Working electromechanical product knowledge preferred
5+ years of drafting/design experience required
