Maintenance Technician

Overview
The Maintenance Technician troubleshoots and repairs all plant structures, equipment associated in the production and packaging areas including, but not limited to pumps/motors, packaging machines, blending equipment and conveyors, etc. in a timely manner with minimal supervision. Secondary duties include, but are not restricted to, upgrading and installation of new equipment, electrical, mechanical, PLC, welding, machining, etc.,

Essential Job Functions:
• Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on all equipment and plant structures in a safe manner, in compliance with State and Federal GMP’s, SOP’s and company Policies and Procedures
• Performs general maintenance duties as it relates to plant equipment and building
• Inspects machines for parts wear and recommend/participate in making necessary repairs
• Properly perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, welding, and plumbing duties as required
• Properly perform PLC programing troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades
• Participates and assists in the installation of new machinery
• Follows HACCP and Food Safety principles and verify compliance to all Critical Control points and Preventative Quality Checkpoints to ensure a safe quality product is produced consistently
• Responsible for reporting food safety and quality issues and initiate action, as necessary
• Follow all Food Safety guidelines, such as, but not limited to: GMP’s, Allergen Program, Quality, HACCP, and Sanitation Safety

Required Job Qualifications:
• Minimum two years’ experience in a Maintenance Technician role in a manufacturing environment or related capacity
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Education and/or experience with electronics, Control Systems and PLC controlled processes
• Industrial electrical/mechanical maintenance experience preferably in a packaging manufacturing environment, or similar education and/or experience with PLC is desirable
• Experience troubleshooting and installing industrial machinery
• Project management – ability to see job through to completion with attention to detail in a timely manner.
• Ability to work within a team concept. Flexibility is an asset.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds to shoulder height on an intermittent basis
• Must be able to understand and proactively endorse GMP, product protection regulations
• Available to work overtime/weekend as needed
• Good communication skills/read and write English
