Description
Brethren Village Retirement Community is hiring caring and dependable LPN’s for our Personal Care and Memory Support areas. Brethren Village offers a variety of work schedules to meet your needs, and the opportunity to apply for positions throughout our organization. Brethren Village’s LPN’s provide the highest-quality clinical care, while fostering positive and supportive relationships with Residents to enhance their physical, cognitive, and emotional well-being. Our LPN’s work cooperatively with RN’s and Aides to provide direct patient care.

Brethren Village provides competitive starting rates of pay – $21.75 per hour, with higher rates for those with work experience as an LPN.

Brethren Village offers generous shift differentials ($3.00 extra per hour on the evening shift, and $2.00 extra per hour on the night shift) and weekend incentives ($1.00 extra per hour).

Primary Responsibilities Include:

providing direct care to Residents, including giving medications and carefully observing and documenting health status
providing effective nursing care to Residents with memory loss and dementia
keeping accurate charts and documentation
safely transferring Residents, using mechanical lifts when necessary
helping to ensure regulatory compliance with respect to nursing practices
providing guidance to Aides to promote professional nursing practices; to foster quality clinical care; and to promote Team Members’ professional development
assisting Residents with dressing, grooming, hygiene / bathing, eating, bathroom tasks, and walking/transportation
completing all work in strict adherence to Brethren Village policies and state and federal regulations, including HIPAA and Department of Human Services regulations

Brethren Village offers a variety of work schedules to meet your needs. Typical work schedules include:

Full-time: 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., 3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m., OR 11:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.

Part-time: 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., 3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m., OR 11:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.

PRN: opportunities are available on all shifts (incentives and shift differentials do not apply to PRN positions)

LPN’s typically work every other weekend and holiday.

Requirements

Required Core Competencies and Qualifications:

a high school diploma or G.E.D.
dependability: ability and willingness to meet attendance standards
basic computer skills: the ability to access and navigate web sites, and use applications and databases independently
the ability to read and to complete online training independently
ability and willingness to consistently work in a safe and alert manner, and to report to work fit for duty; commitment to wearing protective equipment as required for the position, and adhering to all health and safety standards
the ability and willingness to interact in a productive and professional manner with colleagues
the ability to form positive and supportive relationships with Residents and other clients, and to provide exceptional care and service to others
ability and willingness to represent Brethren Village and carry out responsibilities in a manner aligned with our core values of caring, integrity, stewardship, and excellence

Additional Requirements for This Position:

must be at least age 18
valid PA LPN license
current CPR and First Aid certification
experience in a long-term care or assisted living setting preferred; experience working with older adults with memory loss or dementia preferred
experience in a leadership or mentoring role preferred
ability and willingness to provide effective guidance and coaching to Aides and other Team Members, and to work collaboratively with other staff for the benefit of Residents
willingness to provide assistance to Residents with their dressing, grooming, bathing, eating, and bathroom needs
the ability to safely transfer Residents, properly using mechanical lifts when necessary (consistent adherence to safe lifting and transfer procedures is required); to safely push adult Residents in wheel chairs; to reach, bend, stand, and walk frequently during the shift
the ability to quickly and safely assist Residents during emergency evacuations and other emergency situations
the ability to remain calm and provide effective care in a fast-paced environment
thorough understanding of HIPAA regulations
ability and willingness to work every other weekend and holiday
