Licensed Practical Nurse LPN Lititz, Oncology/Hematology

UPMC’s Hematology/Oncology Office is looking to add a Licensed Practical Nurse to their team. This is a small, but fast paced office, experiencing exciting growth. The practice has a wonderful cohesive team culture, willingness to work together to help each other, and overall positive day to day team culture. The LPN is essential to the team and provides professional nursing care to office patients under supervision of patient care providers. You will be successful in this position if you have the ability to adapt, are a team player with a positive attitude, and have a drive to learn. After training, this LPN could also need to float to other offices on occasion for staffing purposes. This could occur 25% of the time or less. Gas mileage reimbursement is paid for travel.

HOURS: Monday-Friday 8am-4:30PM, with flexibility to possibly get off early on Fridays *Will be discussed further in interview* NO WEEKENDS. NO LATE EVENINGS. NO HOLIDAYS. NO ON-CALL.


Room patients, assess patient’s general condition, take vital signs and weight, ensure imaging or bloodwork or other related tests results are pulled up for the provider to discuss with the patient.
Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments.
Fill out FMLA and disability forms and give to physician to complete their portion for patients.
Telephone triage and potential to schedule appointment for patient
Obtain prior authorizations for medications.
Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice and instructions.
Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.
Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.
Administer medications including oral, SQ injection, IM injection.
Draw blood.
Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).
Comply with all policies and procedures.
Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing.
One-year clinical experience preferred, but not required

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) OR Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
