DESCRIPTION OF WORK
The employee in this position serves as the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the Keystone State Challenge Academy (KSCA). Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), the position ensures adherence to HIPAA standards, and administers care to KSCA cadets for two 22-week residential cohorts. Provides KSCA with LPN services for between 100-140 youth ages 16-18 in a residential setting. Conducts daily sick call and makes skilled nursing decisions to address medical needs and concerns. At the direction of an RN, provides or recommends treatment by ensuring the overall health and welfare of cadets enrolled in the Academy.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
– Permanent full-time employment (8 hours/day; 40 hours/week).
– Work hours are 2nd shift (12:30 PM – 11:00 PM); Rotating Shifts as needed.
– Lunch Period: 30 minutes
– Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
In compliance with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) requirements, if you are selected for this position, you must show, at the time of hire, verification that you have received either a single-dose COVID-19 vaccination, or both doses of a two-dose COVID-19 vaccination, unless you are exempt from receiving a COVID-19 vaccination due to an ADA or religious accommodation. QUALIFICATIONS
Necessary Special Requirements:
– Possession of a current Pennsylvania license as a Licensed Practice Nurse issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing; or possession of a non-renewable temporary practice permit issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
Condition of Employment:
– Employees possessing non-renewable temporary practice permits must obtain licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse within the one (1) year period as defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
Other Requirements:
– PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
– If you are within 60 days of completing a licensed practical nursing program approved by the State Board of Nursing, you are eligible to apply for this job posting. At the time of appointment to a position, you must show proof of possession of a current, valid PA temporary practice permit or PA Licensed Practical Nurse license.
– You must be able to perform essential job functions.
