Masonic Village at Elizabethtown is hiring a Lead Cook. This is a Full Time Day & Evening opportunity.

What You’ll Do:

As a Lead Cook, you will carry out our Mission of Love by performing in all areas of food preparation. Preparing and serving hot and cold food for all Masonic Village locations. Responsible for overseeing the preparation and cooking of all food items to maintain high quality standards, at the direction of the Sous Chef or Chef, and assist in maintaining proper sanitation throughout all food preparation and storage areas, reporting all discrepancies at that time to the Chef. Our Lead Cooks are responsible for the following:

Prepares and serve hot and cold foods and responsible for setting up the service line and or buffet.
Able to read, understand and follow standardized recipes and production sheets.
Check deliveries of the various food and supplies received from vendors. Order product from specified vendors as directed by Chef.
Comply with all standards and policies, reporting all discrepancies to the Sous Chef or Chef regarding the kitchen operation by completing an end of day report. Properly cover, date, and store all food items in proper container and storage area. Check refrigerator for food items over 72 hours old daily and discard them.
Contribute creative input towards daily specials and menu creation.
Close kitchen as assigned by supervisor, ensuring completion of employees duties are accomplished prior to leaving their shift.
What You Definitely Have:

Two years of experience in an a la carte line and prep cooking required.
Completion of Food Service Ladder I Program required.
Associates degree or certificate in culinary arts issued by an accredited culinary or technical school preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered in place of degree or certificate when applicable.
Strong knowledge of soups, sauces, and gravies required.
Good written and oral communication and proficient with computer applications.
