We are looking for a Driver to transport employees to and from work in the morning and afternoon and to make deliveries during the work day in a safe and timely manner. Driver responsibilities include arranging regular cleaning and maintenance services for the vehicle, planning each route based on road and traffic conditions, and helping to load and unload the vehicles. To be considered for this role, you should have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record with no traffic violations. Note that you don’t need to have a car; we provide drivers with our own vehicles. Must be able to operate various types of vehicles, including a passenger van, small and large box trucks, and a stake body truck. Ability to pass a DOT physical exam and urine drug screen is required. Holding a current CDL is preferred but not required. Please note that while driving is the primary duty of this position, there will be times throughout the day such as in between delivery runs, where you will be expected to help in the shop by performing tasks including but no limited to: assembling parts, wrapping finished parts to prepare for shipping, and operating a drill press. Prior production experience is preferred but not required.
• Map out driving routes ahead of time to determine the most efficient trip
• Pick up employees in the morning before their shift at the agreed upon location and time
• Drop employees off after their shift at the agreed upon location
• Deliver parts/product to sister and parent companies and customers
• Listen to traffic and weather reports to stay up-to-date on road conditions
• Adjust the route to avoid heavy traffic or road construction, as needed
• Assist personnel with loading and unloading the vehicles
• Schedule regular service appointments and report any issues
• Inspect all vehicles and immediately report any safety items discovered
• Complete driver’s log for each trip
• Maintain shipping paperwork for deliveries
• Follow all traffic laws
• Drive defensively to ensure safety
• Assist in the shop as needed when not driving
• Proven experience as a Driver
• A valid driver’s license
• A clean driving record
• Minimum visual acuity of 20/50 (or corrected to 20/50)
• Familiarity with GPS devices
• Ability to use material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks
• A polite and professional disposition
• Ability to remain calm in stressful driving situations (e.g., at rush hour)
• Reliable and punctual with dedicated professionalism to job and duties
• Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Physically able to reach, stretch, bend, and sit for long periods of time during daily routine
