Dining Aide

Full-time, Part-time Position, Available on: 2022-08-30

Positions start at $16.00/hr

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

A. Prepares and serves high quality food in accordance with standards and regulations. Example: cooking to order, special orders.
B. Understands diets and special nutritional needs of residents and honors their preferences. Modifies food accordingly to meet the nutritional needs of
residents.
C. Maintains high standards of meal quality and appearance. Takes initiative in recognizing and communicating to appropriate team members ideas regarding improvement to resident dining experiences.
D. Assists the household staff with meal time service as a team. Helps prepare appropriate snacks.
E. Ensures smooth and timely service of the dining rooms.
F. Performs duties in a competent manner in compliance with regulations and policies. Example: Department of Health.
G. Is knowledgeable of all menus, modifications, and descriptions.
H. Responsible for inventory, storing and ordering household china, food and paper supplies.
I. Keeps all kitchen areas clean and organized in compliance with regulations. Reports repairs and maintenance needs in an appropriate and timely manner.
J. Consistently follows sanitation procedures and universal precautions to preserve food quality and prevent transmission of food-borne illness.
K. Is knowledgeable in operating and cleaning all kitchen equipment.
L. Maintains proper documentation of food temperatures and equipment temperatures for regulatory compliance.
M. Responsible to make sure the needs of residents are met based on their individual choices for daily living and sensitivity to their choices.

OTHER FUNCTIONS

A. Participants in Quality Assurance Process Improvement (QAPI) of Dining Services.
B. Assists in other duties as assigned within the scope of practice.
C. Completes annual Compliance and HIPAA training and exhibits behavior as set forth by the Code of Conduct in the performance of their duties.
D. Mandatory training requirements completed as assigned on time.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/JOB RELATIONSHIPS

A. A high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
B. One to two years experience preferred in a skilled nursing or retirement facility.
C. Serv Safe training / certification.
E. Basic computer skills needed.
F. The Dining Aide is responsible to report to the Healthcare Dining Coordinator.
