The TAIT Internship program is a fully immersive, experiential program. Interns are placed in a department based on their major and interests, but it is up to them to set goals and define their experience at TAIT. Position Details
Position: Control Fabrication Intern

Job Specifications: Control Fabrication Interns will gain a key understanding of operations management in an electrical fabrication environment. This position will assist with the preparation, manufacturing, and quality assurance of electrical systems and products. Control Fabrication Interns will be exposed to multiple stages of the unique TAIT project lifecycle through support of operations functions such as Water Spiders, Stock Products, LED Portables, and Permanent Installs.

Location: West Lincoln Facility in Lititz, PA

Duration: 5/28/2024 – 08/09/2024 *with a possible extension to 8/23/2024

Schedule: Interns are scheduled to work 40 hours per week on 1st shift dependent on projects and business needs

Eligibility: This role is open to U.S. Residents only

Intern Responsibilities

Develop an understanding of materials, parts, and elements pertaining to overall build
Take part in the assembly of custom design and fabricated components
Use and maintain mechanical and electrical tools safely, efficiently, and effectively to assemble wire, label, and test components. Tools include soldering iron, screw drivers, box cutters, drill, drill press, jig and band saws, hydraulic and pneumatic presses, conduit punches and bandsaws.
Produce a quality product while focusing on TAIT brand quality and standards
Adhere to standard fabrication, assembly, and test procedures and checklists
Ensure all product labelling requirements are executed and correct
Assist with other tasks, within or outside the department, based on operational needs (i.e. finish work, paint prep, etc.)
Attend meetings, seminars, and training sessions as required. Engage in training/development programs to enhance skills

To qualify for this internship, you must meet the following:

U.S. Residents only
Currently pursuing a degree or equivalent in a related field:
Business Administration
Welding and Fabrication
Electrical Fabrication
Operations Management
Technical Theatre
Graduating in between December 2023- May 2025
Familiarity with basic computer applications and software
Willingness to learn and develop skills in specific manufacturing tasks and processes
Please note that this internship is designed for individuals seeking an entry-level opportunity to gain practical experience.

This position also provides a path for continued growth as a: Control Fabricator I, based on skillset and additional training.
