Duties and Responsibilities: 

Deliver patient care to patients on the unit.
Keep the nurse informed of patient needs and conditions
Make scheduled rounds on the unit assuring the whereabouts and status of the patients.
Ensure patient care equipment is in clean, working condition and in the appropriate places and keeping patient care areas clear of obstructions and in an organized manner.
Assist in the admission, transfer and discharge of patients as directed by the nurse.
Work a flexible schedule based upon service demands
Maintain quality control logs following OSHA and HIPAA regulations.
Patient scheduling of appointments to include transportation requests.
Obtain and document in chart patient’s height/weight and vital signs.
Perform EKG’s
Collect and process lab specimens including UDS, UA, Chem Sticks, etc. following proper infection control procedures.
Assist with clerical duties as needed.
Transport patient to appointments, as needed.
Perform chart audits/reviews as assigned.

Lifting: up to 50 pounds on occasion.
Standing: up to several hours at a time, which may include walking, climbing steps, and descending.

Sitting: up to several hours at a time for data entry into the computer or medical record documentation.
Driving: Must be able to drive a 15-passenger van or car to and from various activities

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:

Current certification as a C.M.A.
Previous experience working as C.M.A. in hospital or long-term care facility
Current CPR/First Aid training/certification.
Two years continuous sobriety preferred if in recovery.
Previous experience in a hospital/chemical dependency rehabilitation treatment program preferred.
21 years of age or older is required
Requires a current, valid, unrestricted driver’s license
