SCOPE
Perform apprentice-level rough and finish carpentry in the alteration and construction of buildings,
including interior and exterior modifications.
REPORTING STRUCTURE
Reports directly to General Superintendent and/or Job Superintendent
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assists Carpenters and Job Superintendents as needed.
2. Specific duties may include, but are not limited to assisting/training in the following:
• Patching Roofs
• Install Cabinetry, Floor/Wall Coverings, Ceiling Material, Plastic Laminate, Hardware
• Hang and Finish Drywall, Finish Walls with Wood
• Install Insulation, Weather-stripping
• Repair/Replace Railings, Handrails, Stair Treads, Building Platforms, Partitions, and Ramps • Install Door Jambs, Hang Metal and Wood Doors
• Repair and Install Door Locks and Closures
• Build Forms, Pour and Finish Concrete
• Demo of Concrete, Masonry, Framing, Carpet
• Millwork, Cleanup, Layout, Blocking, other duties as assigned
3. Thoroughly complete timesheets.
4. Work in a safe manner, obeying all applicable OSHA regulations. Report all accidents/injuries to your supervisor and the Office Manager immediately
5. Operate and maintain company equipment and vehicles in a safe and responsible manner. Inform supervisor immediately if a repair is needed.
6. Maintain a professional attitude at all times to insure optimal client and subcontractor relations.
7. Assist job superintendents and carpenters, perform general labor duties as needed. Perform other duties as assigned or directed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. High school graduate or equivalent.
2. Reliability and ability to work as a team.
3. Some knowledge of safety regulations and practices pertaining to construction work.
4. Some training and experience using and maintaining tools and equipment, attained through education or job experience.
5. Must acquire and maintain own hand tools.
6. Must have a valid PA driver’s license.
8. Physical ability to lift and carry items weighing approximately 90 pounds, climb and work from ladders, bend, stoop, and work around wood dust and various fumes associated with construction work, and in inclement weather.
9. Must be available to work overtime as needed.
