CAFETERIA TEAM LEADER

The Cafeteria Team Leader position is responsible for leading and supervising staff and maintaining the operation of the employee cafeteria (Coaster Café) during scheduled shifts. This position will be responsible for the daily operation and supervising of Coaster Cafe and will work directly with Supervisors and Managers. The position will oversee the daily operations relating to employee staffing, revenue and overall general Coaster Café operations. It is the responsibility of this position to possess, lead and instruct on the company’s core values. This position may also assist other Entertainment Complex locations on an as needed basis HERSHEYPARK Arena, HERSHEYPARK Stadium, ZooAmerica, Hershey Gardens, GIANT Center and Hershey Theatre).

The position of Cafeteria Team Leader is a supervisory (GREEN TAG) position.

Job Functions:

Training and supervising front line employees and supervisors to ensure that they are capable of interacting appropriately with guests, and that they have the information needed to answer guest questions
Oversee and train staff on proper job responsibilities, register and cash handling procedures and reporting money bag/loan box variances as they occur
Ensure that employees have the proper breaks, supplies and any other operational items needed throughout their shift
Ensure strict adherence to Child Labor Laws, and report any violations to their direct supervisor
Ensure that Coaster Cafe opens and closes at the proper times established by business needs along with guidance from the supervisory/management team
Maintaining appropriate food production levels based on projected business and weather on a daily basis to minimize food waste
Monitoring food preparation and portion controls; including adherence to food safety standards and ensuring quality product in line with federal, state and company laws and policies
Monitor stand appearance operations (inside and outside) to ensure cleanliness and presentation meets department standards
Maintain equipment and reporting problems with equipment to immediate supervisor and or maintenance staff during operations so that issues are corrected
Adhere to financial procedures as it relates to money bag operation and revenue reporting
Basic Qualifications:

Must be 16 years of age or older
Must have at least one year of Food & Beverage experience
Must be able to understand and communicate in the English language
Must have reliable transportation to and from work
Additional Qualifications:

Must be able to multitask while prioritizing job tasks and assignments
Must display a positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and professional image in compliance with Hershey Entertainment and Resorts guidelines
Must have the ability to safeguard confidential information
Proven guest relations, problem-solving, task management skills, and organizational skills
Knowledge of Child Labor Law regulations
Must be able to work independently and be self-motivated to perform all aspects of the job at all times
Working Conditions:

Physical requirements include standing (for periods up to at least 8 hours at a time), walking (including up and down stairs), bending and repeated lifting (up to 20 pounds unassisted)
Regular outside work in various weather conditions is required (including extreme heat and cold, rain, snow and other inclement weather)
Employee must provide proper footwear (black non-skid / non-slip sneakers)
Must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes Monday through Sunday (including holidays) with shifts starting as early as 6:30 AM and ending as late as 1 AM, according to Child Labor Laws and must be able to work a minimum of two weekends (Saturdays and Sundays) each month
Must be able to work a minimum of five days and at least 35 hours per week (including shifts in excess of eight hours) during May, June, July and August and at least 15 hours per week during September through April
