To the Adult Students of the Lancaster County CTC,
The LCCTC has been developing plans regarding many issues related to the end of the school year. We still await some input from the state that will affect dates and timeframes. We appreciate your patience regarding these plans.
Please remember that the most current information will be posted on the LCCTC website at www.lancasterctc.edu/news.
Adult Education Program Updates/Reminders for May 1
Certificates and Awards
We recognize that everyone is anxious for details on what can be done for the Certificates and Awards ceremony. Our students deserve to be honored for their hard work and perseverance in challenging circumstances. However, we must act with the safety of our students, our staff, and our community in mind.
The social distancing requirements that are in place and with no word yet from the state on when and how large gatherings will be permitted, it is difficult to imagine that Certificates and Awards can be offered as it has been in the past. The LCCTC administration has developed a plan for virtual alternatives, but we still hold out hope and are awaiting input from the Department of Education and the governor.
Student Item Pickup
The LCCTC has worked up a plan to get students back to campuses to collect belongings that were left behind and return borrowed electronics and other items in a way that is consistent with the social distancing guidelines that are currently in place. We are awaiting approval from the Joint Operating Committee and will share that information as soon as we can.
Reminder – The deadline for LCCT Foundation Scholarships is May 15. Information and links for the LCCT Foundation Scholarships and Workforce Grants for High School and Adult Students can be found at the web page link below. Mental Health Resources
We are seeing a rise in inquiries from students and families regarding stress, anxiety, and depression related to the pandemic and the social changes that society is experiencing because of it. The CTC has links to helpful mental health and wellbeing resources on our Covid-19 Resource webpage and on the counselors’ page on Canvas. If you feel that you need help, please reach out to your campus counselors or check out the online resources. Don’t think that you’re alone! Help is here if you need it.
